If living in Broadhempston for nearly 40 years qualifies them as locals, David and his wife Anna now qualify. Several years ago David started promoting gigs in Broadhempston Church, attracting artists from all music genres and with increasingly high profiles. With the help of Anna and a very willing band of volunteers the gigs have been frequently sold out weeks in advance.
Having strummed a guitar since his youth to a persistently basic standard, retirement from the legal profession has given David the opportunity to assemble a local band, Broadband, which provides great entertainment for the band members and, hopefully as their playing improves, to an audience. On a more serious note, David is Chairman of trustees of the South West & Film Television Archive, the largest film regional film archive in the UK. When away from the village, David and Anna often find themselves skiing, touring Europe or picking olives in Italy.
He is a founder of DevonSent and a great champion of new music across all genres.
